Media: UN Security Council ready to hold meeting on Ukraine on January 21

The UN Security Council appointed an extraordinary meeting dedicated to the deterioration of the situation in the east of Ukraine on January 21, a diplomatic source in the organization's headquarters told TASS news agency.

"Lithuania, which is non-permanent member of the Security Council, put forward the initiative to hold an unscheduled meeting. The meeting will focus on the strengthening of military operations in the east of Ukraine," reads the statement

As reported, January 14, 2015, the UN Security Council condemned the actions of militants firing on the bus near Volnovakha, Donetsk region.
