Two civilians were killed in Donetsk on Thursday as a result of military action, and another seven were injured, according to the report on the Web site of Donetsk City Hall.
"Yesterday, on January 8, the Kyivskiy, Kirovskiy, Kuibyshevskiy and Petrovskiy districts of the city were intensively attacked by Russian-backed insurgents. There was widespread damage to houses and to the infrastructure and communications [networks] of the city. Two civilians were killed, and another seven were injured," the report reads.
According to the report, last night there was the sound of artillery fire in the city. However, in the morning people are no longer hearing any sounds of heavy artillery. All of the essential service systems of the city are operating normally.
