German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier says about numerous violations of the ceasefire in Donbas that may lead to violence increase.
He said this after the Paris meeting of the foreign ministers of Germany, France, Ukraine and the Russian Federation, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.
"Numerous violations of the ceasefire continue," Steinmeier said, herewith, noting the overall decrease of violence in Donbas in the last days.
However, Steinmeier said that the situation could very easily slip towards activation of violence, if the violations of the ceasefire continue in the future. Steinmeier still considers the situation in Ukraine as "extremely fragile".
The Ministers of the “Normandy Four" agreed to extend the mandate of the OSCE in Ukraine for another year and called for its extending. "We ask for a reinforcement of the Special Monitoring Mission of the OSCE and for extending its mandate with the additional personnel, equipment and financing," explained French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius, who read out a joint statement after the meeting.
Ministers called on parties to the conflict "to cease fire and to complete the withdrawal of heavy weapons."
