KYIV, February 23 /Ukrinform/.Latvia supports the possible deployment of the UN peacekeeping forces in eastern Ukraine.
Latvian Prime Minister Laimdota Straujuma said this after a meeting with Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko held on Sunday in Kyiv, Delfi reported.
During the meeting the parties discussed the settlement of the conflict in eastern Ukraine. Poroshenko noted that the UN peacekeeping forces deployment in eastern Ukraine is supported by the U.S. and the UK, and he intends to ask France for its support. The Latvian prime minister, in turn, stressed that everything possible should be done to establish a truce in the east of Ukraine.
