President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has signed the law on ratification of the Agreement between Ukraine, Lithuania and Poland to establish a joint military unit.
This has been reported by the press service of the Head of State.
"The Agreement provides for the establishment of a joint Ukrainian-Polish-Lithuanian military unit and determines the general purpose, principles of activity, decision-making process, security guarantees and other organizational measures related to the activity of the brigade," the document says.
In particular, the brigade is established for the participation in the international operations that will be held under the mandate of the UN Security Council and the decisions of the authorized bodies of Lithuania, Poland and Ukraine. The Agreement remains open for accession of other states under joint invitation of the parties.
