Hope for peace being destroyed — Chaly

Militants supported by Russia violate the agreements reached earlier on settlement of the conflict in eastern Ukraine. It actually destroys the hope for peace.

This has been announced by deputy head of Presidential Administration Valeriy Chaly at a briefing, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"Unfortunately, despite the hopes for a responsible attitude of all parties, which approved the declaration on set of measures on February 12, including Russia, as well as representatives of the "DPR" and "LPR", who were signatories to a series of measures, these agreements are not obeyed. In fact, the hope for peace is being destroyed. Such a course of events leads to the subsequent escalation, and, obviously, to return to another outcome," he said, commenting on the situation in Debaltseve.

Chaly has said that Ukraine complies with its obligations and has responsible attitude to the implementation of all agreements, including those reached in Minsk on February 12.
