Foreign minister of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin has expressed gratitude to the leadership of Romania for its principled position and support during this difficult period for the Ukrainian state.
The minister has said this at the meeting with Romanian President Klaus Iohannis, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
"Ukraine is grateful to Romania for its consistent support for the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine, as well as for condemnation of the annexation of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea by the Russian Federation, condemnation of the Russian aggression in the eastern areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions and Russia's support of terrorist organizations "DPR" and "LPR"," Klimkin has stressed.
Pavlo Klimkin and Klaus Iohannis have discussed the current state of bilateral relations, noting that at the present time there are all objective prerequisites for the restart of these relations on the basis of lasting good-neighborly friendship and mutually beneficial cooperation, which can have a positive impact on the situation in the region.
Foreign minister of Ukraine is currently in Romania on an official visit.
