The ink on Thursday’s Minsk peace agreement has all but dried, but in the eastern Ukrainian city of Artemivsk, locals remain sceptic of any lasting truce as the sound of artillery fire continues to creep closer. FRANCE 24 reports.
Fighting is still intense around the city of Artemivsk, the Ukrainian rearguard for the strategic Debaltseve front, ahead of the ceasefire that Kiev and separatist rebels agreed upon for Sunday.
“All our friends are preparing their basements because people are afraid, they are tired from this war,” a local tells FRANCE 24.
