Ukraine didn"t agree to give autonomy for Donbas — Poroshenko

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said that Ukraine did not agree to give the autonomy status for Donbas and federalization during the talks in Minsk, Belarus.

The news was reported Radio Free Europe.

After the summit ended, Ukrainian President said the summit in Minsk was tense. According to him, the Ukrainian side faced the ultimatum terms.

“It was not easy, and, in fact, we were told about all sorts of unacceptable terms, retreats, surrenders. We did not agree to any ultimatums and clearly expressed our opinion that a ceasefire should take place without preconditions,” Poroshenko said.

The heads of "DNR" and "LNR" groups signed a document proposed by "Normandy Four" on the settlement of crisis in eastern Ukraine.

French President Francois Hollande said the talks in Minsk were a relief for Europe and hope for Ukraine.

Poroshenko also announced an agreement to set free Nadiya Savchenko, the Ukrainian pilot imprisoned in Russia, as soon as possible.
