President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko accepted the resignation of Vitaly Yarema from the position of Attorney General.
Vitaly Kupriy reported the news on his Facebook page.
"The President accepted the resignation of Attorney General Yarema so in half an hour he will inform Petro Poroshenko Bloc faction in the Parliament on this and other issues," he wrote.
The lawmaker said Yarem's stepping down was a "positive news.” According to him, it gives hope that "reforms of law enforcement will speed up."
"I really hope that a candidate to replace the Attorney General will be reviewed by public and we won't suffer another setback," he said.
