Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has held a telephone conversation with German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Francois Hollande, the presidential press service reported.
"Petro Poroshenko, Angela Merkel and Francois Hollande insist on unconditional and immediate ceasefire, as escalation of the conflict continues and the number of civilian casualties grows," reads the statement.
The parties stand for return to all articles of the Minsk agreements, as they are the basis for a peaceful settlement of the situation in Donbas.
It was also agreed that there can be no pre-conditions for a meeting of the Trilateral Contact Group.
The parties expressed their disappointment at the fact that the Trilateral Contact Group had not achieved any progress during the last meeting in Minsk.
"Poroshenko noted the need for an official response from the Russian side, as the party of the Minsk agreements, to disruption of the work of the Trilateral Contact Group," the press service reported.
The Presidents of Ukraine and France, as well as the German Chancellor agreed to continue close coordination of the next steps for the peaceful settlement of the situation in Donbas.
